Privacy policy

In short: your photographs never leave your computer. Not as a policy choice we could quietly reverse, but because the application has no server component. There is nowhere for them to go.

This page explains what that means precisely, and what small amount of data does exist.

What we do not collect

We do not receive, store, process or transmit:

  • your photographs, at any resolution, at any point;
  • the files you produce;
  • your SKUs, filenames, folder structure or CSV mappings;
  • your presets or settings.

All image processing happens inside your browser using your computer's own processor. The application is a set of static files. Once loaded, it works with your network disconnected, which you can verify by disconnecting it.

What actually leaves your computer

Three things, and only three.

Loading the application. Your browser downloads the app's files from our hosting provider, which records the request in standard server logs: IP address, timestamp, the file requested, and your browser's user-agent string. This is the same record any website's host keeps and is necessary to deliver the files at all. We use these logs for security and to know roughly how many people are using the software.

Optional components. Background removal needs a model file of about 62 megabytes. It is served from our own domain, never a third party, and it is only downloaded if you choose that feature. Image encoders are downloaded the same way, on first use.

Buying a licence. Payment is handled by our payment provider, not by us. They receive your name, email address and payment details and process them under their own privacy policy. We receive your name and email address so we can issue and support your licence. We never see your card details.

Note what is absent: the application never contacts us during use. Licence files are verified on your own machine, which is why the software keeps working offline.

What is stored on your computer

The application uses your browser's local storage for:

  • your presets and settings;
  • your licence file, if you have one;
  • cached application files, so it works offline;
  • the background-removal model, if you downloaded it.

This data stays on your computer. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. We cannot read it, and there is no mechanism by which it could be sent to us.

Analytics and tracking

This website, the pages you are reading now, uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks and no cookies. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

If we add analytics in future it will be a privacy-preserving, cookie-free service, and this page will be updated before it is deployed.

For the limited personal data we do hold, name and email address of licence holders, and server logs, the legal bases are performance of a contract (issuing and supporting your licence) and legitimate interests (keeping the service running and secure).

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Server logs are retained for 30 days. Licence records are kept for as long as the licence is valid, plus the period required by tax law.

Children

The software is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date at the top and, for licence holders, notified by email.
